My latest video on the Joanna Ossuary is performing extremely well on YouTube. A big THANK YOU to all my supporters for making this work possible!
This past Tuesday, I released my latest video on the Joanna Ossuary, featuring interviews with Amir Wielinski at the Hecht Museum and Steven Notley, the Academic Director of the El-Araj Excavation Project. If you haven’t yet seen this video, click here. Here are some of the viewer comments:
Congratulations on an excellent and truly exciting video! I am an Israeli archaeologist working with the IAA for over 35 years in Jerusalem. Your proposal that the Joanna and Theophilus of the ossuary are the same as those in Luke is more than reasonable. If indeed it turns out that they are, then here is yet another amazing witness to the intimate connection that Jesus had to His Land and with His People. — Yehudah
This evidence of Joanna, granddaughter of Theophilus, definitely strengthens my faith in the Gospel of Luke. — DA1898
WOW, mind officially blown! Thank you for bringing this to our attention! — NSnowman
I had never heard this before, and I am a Bible archaeology nerd. Wow! — Mark
This infers that Luke wrote his gospel and Acts to Theophilus as an explanation for, and a defense of, Joanna's faith. Remarkable! I admit to being dumbfounded by this. — Tim
Most Excellent Humble Skeptic, I will never read Like and Acts the same way again. — Deb
The information here will/should cause a paradigm shift in understanding Luke's purposes in writing these volumes. It is amazing how some of this was considered by a scholar here and there but never has gained traction. It speaks more to the power of “consensus” and the handing down of intellectual understanding without really questioning how certain views came to be and why we hold them. If Theophilus (whom I have always held was a real person) was High Priest and not a Roman official (or specifically Luke's Benefactor), then there is reason for reevaluation of the purposes for which Luke wrote. — Dr. Matos
Looking forward to more brilliant videos like this one! — Angie
In view of this success and the potential for reaching so many people, I believe it’s important to create more video content of this kind, in addition to my regular podcast, but I can’t do it without your help!
